Scottish Government launches consultation on Rural Delivery Plan

The Scottish Government is working on a Rural Delivery Plan, setting out how it is delivering for Scotland’s rural communities.

As part of this work, the Scottish Government has launched a consultation survey, to give rural communities a chance to share their views and shape the Rural Delivery Plan.

The Rural Delivery Plan will act as a framework to consider the full breadth of policy delivery in the rural space and will cover a range of key areas, such as agriculture, marine, land reform, transport, housing, social justice, population, skills, digital connectivity, economic development, and health and social care.

This document will focus on how the Scottish Government is supporting communities in mainland rural Scotland. The National Islands Plan, which focuses on how the Scottish Government will deliver for island communities, is a separate document.

The Rural Delivery Plan will introduce, for the first time, a vision for rural Scotland, underpinned by a series of strategic objectives and key performance indicators. The Scottish Government wants to work together with rural communities, businesses and stakeholders to ensure that the Plan will be informed by the views of those living and working in rural Scotland.

You can respond to the survey here before the closing date of 17 March 2025.
