The Local Government, Housing and Planning Committee at Holyrood is reviewing the progress of the fourth National Planning Framework (NPF4).
A number of issues were identified as part of the Committee’s first-year review of NPF4, including capacity building within communities to allow them to contribute to local plan plans and participate in the planning system in general and the time taken to process planning applications, particularly the role of statutory consultees such as Community Councils.
The Committee is now seeking public views on the implementation of NPF4, and the progress which has been made in the last year. Comments on the themes identified as part of their last review would be most welcome, as well as additional issues which should also be considered.
The consultation closes on 7 March 2025 and you can respond via the Scottish Parliament website.
